sam was less than a year old when his family immigrated to Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1972. His father, a pastor, was involved in establishing Korean ministries for the Southern Baptist Convention, leading Sam to live in over ten states, primarily in the American South. This exposure helped him appreciate the diversity across the country. In 1989, Sam’s family moved to Seattle, where he completed his senior year at Shorecrest High School and then started as a freshman at the University of Washington in 1990. After graduating, Sam returned to Hawaii in 1995 to care for his aging parents. It was there that he met his wife, Christine. They married and moved back to Seattle, raising their two children, Jessica and Justin, who attended Northshore schools. Professionally, Sam successfully launched three tech startups and, alongside Christine, started a restaurant, wholesale business, and retail distribution company. The family still resides in Bothell, where Sam and Christine remain active in their church and dedicate significant time to community involvement and engagement.

Sam obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 95. He is currently enrolled in Grand Canyon University to obtain his Master of Science as well as Gateway Seminary to obtain his MDiv. Sam started his career in high tech  and since 2010 has started and grew to success three tech companies including EngageADX, MobiFUN and Apptronic. Sam started all of these companies with nothing and grew to multimillion dollar companies. In addition, Sam started  Teriyaki, etc! Asian Cuisine with his wife Christine, which they have run for over twenty years in Bothell. They also co-founded Go!Teriyaki, app based food delivery as well as Go!Bento wholesale distribution as well as their own line of sauces and glazes. Sam and Christine are both true and proven entreprenuers who understand the value of supporting and advocating for small business rights and opportunities for hard working people.

Sam Sim has been a resident of Snohomish County and Bothell for 20 years. His family immigrated to Honolulu in 1972 when he was less than a year old, seeking a better life. Despite their humble beginnings, Sam’s father, a pastor, instilled in him an unbreakable family bond. Growing up in ten states across  the U.S., Sam developed a profound love for people and the country. Experiencing America’s diverse cultures and the beauty of his Korean heritage inspired  him to bridge cultural gaps. His family roots and interactions with various communities have shown him that everyone shares the same aspirations for their families. This conviction drives his dedication to championing education, as well as equal representation and awareness for all cultures, backgrounds, and walks of life.

 

As a candidate, “family first” is at the core of his campaign and values. Sam believes that families are the bedrock of society, providing love, support, and stability. As a parent and community member, he prioritizes family needs in all endeavors. If elected, he will tirelessly advocate for policies that  support families, including quality education, economic opportunities, and safety for citizens. Moreover, as an entrepreneur and small business owner, Sam understands the value of being rewarded for hard and honest work. He believes that such work should be rewarded in kind. With these values and by putting families first, he aims to build an industrious, cohesive, and prosperous community. Sam is committed to working together to ensure that children and the next generation receive the support and resources they need not only to survive but to thrive.
